Il nostro cliente Our client is one of the world's largest multimedia retailers, with operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, broadcasting live 24 hours a day, 364 days a year. Started from the US, they are continuing their global expansion and are shortly to arrive in Italy. For their start up business they are looking for the following Retail Planner:
Descrizione JOB PURPOSE To maximise sales and net profits from products through liaising with buying teams, utilising inventories, product sales history and other relevant market information to plan the most effective mix and sequence of products for specific programmed hours to achieve budgeted sales and being responsible for the management of inventory.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Managing Airtime - 40% - To identify and select products/lines that meet specific criteria of the hour/house i.e. show title, time of day or presenter in order to achieve Sales expectation for that slot. - To prepare the running order of shows considering price points, mix of products, sales tools, promotional items and input the script onto system, being accountable for decision made, accuracy and integrity of the information supplied. - To ensure all new items are Priced Correctly and the Graphic conforms to the agreed standards. Monitor and review sales performance on £ per minute basis - considering forecats, mix & sequence of products, time of day, mix of price, theme producer and presenter. - To establish the optimum number of different product options to ensure sufficient variety in line with scheduled programmes. - To Liaise with buyers and members of the scheduling department to reconfirm weekly schedules based on current performance and trends i.e. confirming guests, requesting changes in presenters, changes to time of the day or the number of hours required to maximise airtime sales for the business not just the category. - Work with Buying to establish the correct rotation of shows and products for the year, balancing needs of the category and the business to ensure the best result for the airtime.
Stock Management - 40% - To identify lines to re-order and propose quantities identifying key promotional lines, being responsible for developing strategies for their long-term life cycle to ensure sales are maximised on each line. - To identify stock to be returned to vendor (RTV) and actioned in a timely manner, proposing exit strategies for problem lines. - To identify and review slower moving lines (mark-down) ensuring these are in the correct section of the inventory and be responsible for the pricing in accordance with company's guidelines. - To be aware of and continually monitor availability of stock during the product flow cycle i.e. stock on order and new stock deliveries etc. - To prioritise management of aged inventory alongside "new lines" - Identify and action lines that have run through the life cycle (Kll Items). - To liaise with Buying or Warehouse/QA to enquire on stock availability and identify where stock is the workflow, ensuring that other departments relying on this information are kept fully up to date with progress, and being ready to have a solution if this remains a problem.
Reporting - 10% - To analyse stock and sales data and prepare plans going forward for inventory management to present senior management team. - To work with relevant buying teams to provide information in relations to sales, trends and slow movers. Identifying opportunities, replacement items and gaps in the inventory to assist them with their buying decisions. - To forecast sales and inventory requirements to provide information for the open to buy process. - To analyse sales performances of each shows and work with buying team to devise rotational shows as well as Planned, Fixed and Opportunity shows or events. - Provide information for the Call Center to enable them to manage any unexpected high volume items.
Broadcasting - 10% - To work closely with broadcasting department to ensure confirmation of shows and provide additional information. - Be aware of an air programming and alert the Broadcasting team of any problems that occur on air in relation to the areas of your expertise.
Profilo ricercato Education A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject i.e. business degree/marketing - preferable.
Experience - Minimum of 2-3 years in sales and inventory analysis within a Head Office retail environment, with particular emphasis on merchandising and stock control. - Ability to analyse data and draw relevant conclusions to positively impact the business and problem solve - Good level of computer literacy with excellent knowleldge of Microsoft Word and Excel. - A strong financial understanding including margins, profit, sales and inventory management. - Good commercial and trend awareness for relevant product area.
